Welcome to our interactive map for the City's flood study on Darling Harbour, Sydney City and neighbouring surburbs.
Urban flooding is a natural phenomenon. Floods can occur from natural watercourses and channelised streams. Flooding due to overland flow can occur when there is more rain than drainage pits and pipes can contain, causing water to spread over the land. Puddles or ponds after rain are normal and not considered flooding. The following survey asks about your experiences to support findings of a flood study. If you haven’t had any experience with flooding in Darling Harbour, Sydney City and neighbouring suburbs, there is no need to complete this survey.
How to use this map
1. Zoom to a location where you've experienced or witnessed flooding within the red outlined area
2. Select 'Add comment' at the top and place the marker (be as accurate as possible)
3. Fill out the survey for this location
4. Complete the process again for any other locations.
5. To see these instructions again, select the 'i' to the left of your screen
This is best completed on a desktop computer.
